Small Business Saturday is celebrated on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the U.S.

This year, Small Business Saturday is November 25, 2023.

The BBA will run a campaign and promotions from November 1st to November 25th.

Shop Small® Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country and is part of the larger Shop Small Movement.

The BBA is a Certified Neighborhood Champion with American Express. We want to help drive business your way throughout the month of November, leading up to Small Business Saturday on November 25th.

1. There is NO CHARGE to participate
2. All Bayside businesses can register but Only BBA Members will be permitted to participate in this year’s BBA supported activities, promotions, and events
3. Those members who wish to be placed on American Express Small Business Saturday virtual map, must have a business that accepts American Express. If you do not, you will have an option to sign on to accept AMEX and be listed on the map.
4. The BBA will share your company’s promotions throughout the month. The number of times we do this will greatly depend on our already planned promotional schedule.

HOW CAN BBA MEMBER BUSINESS PARTICIPATE?

SHOPPING – FALL CRAWL

In the spirit of Small Business Saturday, shoppers can get their holiday shopping done early – and at a discount – with our Fall Crawl Shopping Event. Participating retailers can offer exclusive discounts for ONE DAY ONLY to attract and draw in customers.

FOOD & DRINK – TAKE-OUTS AND TRIALS

Bayside has some of the greatest restaurants and eateries around. Small Business Saturday is the perfect opportunity for those businesses to bring in foodies and patrons, alike. From holiday-themed cocktails, menus, sweets and treats, and exclusive discounts, participants will get a chance to sample the latest and greatest offerings from our local eateries and watering holes.

Visitors will have an opportunity to stop in at our renowned spots for a special experience. Participating restaurants can offer various options including, a signature cocktail and appetizer, a holiday-themed, special desserts, drink specials, and discounted tabs.

Want to add a special feature to attract even more business? We encourage participating businesses to collaborate with local artists and set up a one-day gallery or provide entertainment to your patrons. The possibilities are endless, and collaboration is what will make this event so special.

If some businesses find their bread and butter really comes from the take-out circuit, we didn’t forget you. For those participating eateries, we would encourage offering patrons a discount on their bill or send a special appetizer on the house.

DON’T HAVE A BRICK & MORTAR? NO PROBLEM. WE CAN HELP SUPPORT YOU TOO!

If you are a service that is closed on the weekends or doesn’t have a brick & mortar building, we wouldn’t want to leave you out. Those members can simply share a promotion, a new service, new goods, or an article pertinent to your business (something in relation to the holiday season always works well) and we will share that information on the BBA website, social media platforms, and any printed material (where and when applicable).
