1. Why did you choose to do business in Bayside?
Having been raised on Bell Blvd, in the heart of the bar/restaurant section, I always knew I would contribute back to my neighborhood in some way.
2. How did you first get involved with the BBA?
My company was reached out by the Marketing Team at Spirit of Huntington after members of the BBA had seen a short video I made of aerial footage of Bayside. We then created a short reel of highlighted areas in the neighborhood to use on the main page of the BBA website.
3. What was your first impression of the BBA?
It seems to be a solid group of people whose businesses have a strong reputation in the neighborhood.
4. If you could change one thing about the BBA, what would it be?
Something I’ve noticed, that seems imperative to change, is creating a fresh/younger approach to the group. Many people in Bayside and the surrounding areas are creating startups and other businesses that have not yet tapped into the idea of joining the BBA specifically. It would be great to see more new faces from different businesses that aren’t necessarily brick-and-mortar, and can add to contribution and strengthen the BBA.
5. What do you wish other people knew about the BBA?
That it’s there and welcoming of new members. I think most people my age would assume that membership is closed, or hard to attain. Recently my friend joined the Queens Chamber of Commerce and mentioned that more people are joining because their outreach is growing.
6. What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining the BBA?
Join with the intention of committing time and effort into the continued development of the BBA. Also to meet like-minded business individuals who can network together to create relationships and innovation together.
7. What do you think will change about the BBA over the next five years?
I believe more people will be inspired to join the Association as it begins to modernize and meet the business mindset of the younger generations soon to make their claim.
